Cleanings & Exams

We use equipment such as ultrasonic cleaning and panoramic X-rays, so these services are thorough yet comfortable. Dr. Garner will examine you for signs of cavities, gum disease, and oral cancer.
Fluoride treatments & Dental Sealants

Flouride treatment is a proactive care treatment to strengthen your tooth enamel, especially when your average diet is hgh in acidity. He can also apply a sealant to the chewing surfaces of your teeth to create a barrier against cavity-causing bacteria.

Dry Mouth & Bad Breath Treatment (Xerostomia)

Saliva reduces acid levels, and helps to mineralize teeth and fight oral disease. So when your saliva declines then your protection declines. These leads to a higher risk for decay and oral diseases. If you have dry mouth, Dr. Garner can recommend products that will alleviate symptoms.

When it comes to Bad Breath, this issue is not only embarrassing but it can also signal concerns like gum disease. We will look for underlying issues and give you solutions to solve your breath problems.

Gum Disease Treatment (Periodontitis)

Diabetes and heart disease have been shown in clinical studies to be linked to gum disease. It can affect your overall health and vice versa.

It’s usually painless therefore patients can be highly susceptible, especially the longer they’ve gone without a professional cleaning.

It’s a chronic disease that once bone loss is found on radiographs, then periodontal disease is diagnosed. Symptoms can include loose teeth, gum recession, bad breath, and its also the number three cause of loss of teeth.

For treatment, Dr. Garner will remove the infection with a deep cleaning procedure called scaling and root planing. He also uses PerioProtect, an antibiotic that will further treat the disease.

Mouthguards

Certain behaviors can lead to dental damage. When teeth are broken, it can increase the risk of expensive dental care. Over active oral muscles lead to further damage and irreversible damage to the jaw muscles (called the TMJ, temporomandibular joint), will occur.

Guards can protect teeth , reduce the degree of oral muscle activity and improve TMJ health.  This prevents a wide variety of pain and dysfunction in the jaw joints. Restrictive breathing can also be the cause, therefore an ear, nose and throat specialist (ENT) may be consulted.

We can create a custom-made mouthguard to protect your mouth from damage caused by teeth grinding or playing high-contact sports.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Have anxiety about sitting in the dentist’s chair? We can help. We provide Nitrous Oxide, which is an odorless, colorless, non-flammable gas. It leads to a state of euphoria, explaining its nickname, ‘laughing gas. ‘ Nitrous oxide is the least potent inhalational anesthetic.

Common Questions about General Dentistry
How can I prevent cavities?
Your mouth naturally creates a film over your teeth that becomes plaque. Plaque can harden into tartar, and tartar can lead to tooth decay and gum disease. By brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing at least once, you break the film before it can become tartar. When you visit us for regular cleanings, we’ll remove plaque and tartar from any spots you missed. We can also use fluoride treatments to strengthen your enamel and fight tooth decay.
Why do I need general dentistry?
Visiting a general dentist regularly is the best way to fulfill several dental needs in one location. Dr. Garner has the training, experience, and solutions you need to keep your mouth healthy and gorgeous. From regular exams and cleanings to dental implants, you will find a wide array of services here.
What foods are healthy for my teeth?
What foods are healthy for my teeth?
If you want a healthy smile, you’ll want a diet rich in whole grains, fiber, fruits and vegetables, calcium, and lean proteins. Make sure you avoid sugary drinks or sticky sweets, which can damage your tooth enamel. Drink plenty of water too! This rinses away the bacteria from your teeth and gums.
Make sure your kids get dental care early, so they can learn to trust their dentist and stay healthy as they grow.
When you bring your loved ones to our practice for their dentistry needs, you’ll find an atmosphere where you’re invited to relax and feel right at home. We see patients at every age, even toddlers.
